Learn 24 and the Office of Out of School-Time Grants and Youth Outcomes 

  • Our partnership with Learn24 should be embedded on the website on the Youth Development page.
  • Learn24 is a network of afterschool and summer opportunities supported by DC Mayor Bowser’s Administration to ensure children and youth in the District have access to quality educational and enrichment activities beyond the school day.
  • The Office of Out of School Time (OST) Grants and Youth Outcomes leads the Learn24 network and has partnered with Little Lights since its inception in 2017.
  • The OST Office is Little Lights’ largest source of grant funding for youth academic programming.

DC Housing Authority 

  • DC Housing Authority should be embedded on both the Youth Development & Family & Economic Empowerment pages.
  • Since 2009 the DC Housing Authority has partnered with Little Lights by providing rent-free space for four of our program sites: Potomac Gardens Center, Hopkins Center, 1430 Center, and the Family Center.

 First Rock Baptist Church 

  • Our partnership with First Rock Baptist Church should be embedded on the Youth Development page.
  • Since 2017, First Rock Baptist has offered us rent-free use of a home in Ward 7 that is our Hilltop Center, serving children living in Benning Terrace Public Housing complex.

Capital Area Food Bank and DC Central Kitchen 

  • These food bank partners should be embedded on the website under Homework Club (or on the Youth Development page).
  • They provide the daily, nutritious meals that are served to Little Lights students at Homework Club, Monday through Friday. In 2020, they provided 15,574 meals.
  • Little Lights has partnered with Capital Area Food Bank and DC Central Kitchen for 11 and 3 years, respectively.

 Greater DC Diaper Bank 

  • This partner should be embedded on the Family & Economic Empowerment page.
  • The Greater DC Diaper Bank has partnered with Little Lights since 2010, supplying free diapers for us to distribute to community members. We serve as a Greater DC Diaper Bank distribution site.  
  • They provide Little Lights with several hundred diapers for infants and babies per month to distribute within the communities we serve. In 2020, we distributed 46,034 diapers through our partnership with the Greater DC Diaper Bank.
