PLANNED GIVING

One of the most meaningful gifts you can give to the children and families we serve.

Remembering Little Lights in your will, a trust, or through an annuity is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give to the children and families we serve. A planned gift helps to secure the future of our organization and promises hope for those who are not yet in our care.

While your gift will benefit the future of Little Lights, it also has significant tax, financial, and personal benefits. Leaving a gift behind leaves a legacy for your family, and the guarantee of a lasting impact on a cause close to your heart. A qualified financial, legal, or tax advisor can help you select the planned gift that best fits your financial goals and allows you to maximize your contribution to Little Lights.

The most common way to make a planned gift is through a bequest in your will or revocable living trust. The following is intended to help you and your attorney in drafting a bequest that satisfies your interests. A general bequest of a stated sum of money or percentage of estate may be worded:

“I, _____[name], of _______ [city, state, ZIP], hereby give/bequeath _____ [written amount or percentage of estate] to Little Lights Urban Ministries, a nonprofit organization incorporated in the District of Columbia, Federal Tax Identification Number 52-2125232, for its general purposes.”
