The 2022 Brighter Futures Benefit was a success!
On Saturday, October 1st, we welcomed more than 230 guests to City Winery to celebrate our work, showcase the wonderful accomplishments of our students, and share about the ways in which Little Lights is helping to make brighter futures possible for DC students and families.
We felt inspired by the stories shared by two students in our Next Step College and Career Program. Jasmin, a high school sophomore, shared how Little Lights assisted her with the high school lottery process and is helping her prepare well for college. Markeith, a college sophomore, spoke about how the support he is receiving from Little Lights while in college is helping him to pursue his dream of studying art.
Because of the generosity and support of our amazing donors, we were able to unlock $50,000 in matching funds and raise a grand total of $153,450, all of which will directly fund our holistic and empowering programs. Thank you to the table hosts, donors, church sponsors, and individual sponsors whose generosity is sustaining our work with DC students and families.
