Jisoo Lee
Program Coordinator

Hometown: Roanoke, VA

Fun fact about you: I’m a twin!

Why are you excited to join the Little Lights team?: I’m super excited to join the Little Lights team because before I was on staff I got to experience Little Lights as a volunteer. Seeing how hard the staff worked for this organization and how much they loved the students and one another was encouraging to see. Now getting to join the full time team, it’s so amazing to see the behind the scenes work.

What will you be doing in your new role?: I will be the program coordinator at the Little Lights Center. In my role, I will be supporting and caring for the students, staff, and volunteers who are part of the site as well as making sure programs are running smoothly.

Fun fact about you: I experimented with glassblowing in high school and made a glass rose for my mom. It was extremely hot but also very fun!

Why are you excited to join the Little Lights team?: I’m excited to learn from and work with a multigenerational team that cares deeply about Southeast DC, while getting to know and understand the community we serve.

What will you be doing in your new role?: I’ll be helping recruit, onboard, and support volunteers and mentors, while reinforcing the relationships and systems that already exist.

Kwnysky Miguel
Development and Assistant Program Coordinator

Hometown: San Francisco, CA

Fun fact about you: I used to do Hula and Tahitian dancing!

Why are you excited to join the Little Lights team?: I am excited to be part of the Little Lights team because the community is filled with passionate, hard-working, and enthusiastic people! A few weeks have already passed, and I continue to admire how each staff member puts their all into the work they do and how our shared values bring the team together. I also admire how Little Lights supports students by providing resources and opportunities that might not always be accessible to youth due to systemic barriers.

What will you be doing in your new role?: In my role, I primarily work with the Development team on projects related to fundraising, data entry, and other development or communication tasks. Two of my favorite responsibilities so far have been writing thank-you letters to our fantastic donors and providing support for the upcoming Little Lights Benefit. Another part of my role involves supporting Homework Club, where I lead community time with the students and tutor during Academic Time.
